In our industry, “full service” is a term used fast and loose. For us, it’s more than just a buzzword. We really do take care of everything, from strategy to concept development, production to campaign rollout, and everything in between. We’ve spent years building relationships with our vendors, so when we say we’ll deliver on time and on budget, that’s a promise, not a line.
We specialize in answering the needs of clients in regulated market sectors, specifically energy, healthcare and financial markets. This has made us leaders in communicating messages that are most critical to society and the economy. Our success also extends to the cultural, social and educational sectors including communications for First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities.
We have created a successful business based on insights into human behaviour, government policies and an understanding of the needs and motivations of audiences and stakeholders. Our agility in providing and sustaining effective communications in the most appropriate media has earned us a loyal client base. We deliver a level of experience and service rarely found within creative firms.
We formulate strategies, make tactical recommendations and apply design thinking skills to deliver highly-effective, multi-layered B2B and B2C programs.
Context Creative was founded in Toronto in August 2001 and has grown steadily to a staff of 28. Our agency consists of two active principals and a team of strategists, writers, graphic designers, animators, digital media specialists, developers and project managers.
The following projects provide a broad sample of work we have completed in recent years. Our portfolio is based on strong client relationships, some reaching back over 10 – 20 years.
We have a long and successful track record working with Ontario’s largest electricity utilities, in particular, Hydro One Networks and Toronto Hydro.
Much of the work has been to promote energy-efficiency programs that are funded by the Ontario government, but implemented by the utilities. These programs are aimed at all market sectors: residential, business, industry, government, academic and healthcare.
Healthcare is a highly complex market that must take into account overall costs, patient expectations, hospitals, doctors, nurses, administrators, ongoing medical research and the role of industry participants such as pharmaceutical companies, insurance and regulators.
We have a proven track record of working collaboratively with client teams to distill and present complex messages. We understand the importance of empathy and patient-centric communications that are authentic and reflective of the diversity of the audiences represented.
Our work in the Finance sector is mostly in the regulatory and consumer education aspects of the industry. Given the sweeping changes in this sector, especially with the emergence of new “fintech” (financial technology) companies and investment vehicles, our clients count on us to create clear, concise and compelling brands, reports, infographics and websites.
Canada has a culture that is both diverse and complex. At Context Creative, we embrace this richness with inquisitiveness and respect. Highlights include our work with First Nations, Inuit and Métis organizations, our stamp design projects for Canada Post, supporting the growth of Trail Tourism in Ontario, and more than a decade as the design sponsor to ideacity.
As higher education becomes increasingly commoditized, universities are seeking new ways to differentiate programs, deliver value and strengthen connections with stakeholders and students. From websites to marketing campaigns and reports, we are helping our clients succeed.
The business sectors that we focus on are all undergoing profound and complex changes, with an increasing demand to engage customers and stakeholders through clear and effective communications programs. Context Creative is agile, flexible and responsive to client needs and market opportunities. We make smart, purposeful, creative decisions, not only by understanding the latest customer data, research, trends and reports, but through our amassed experience and creative insights into the design process. We are makers and storytellers, passionate in our abilities to inform, inspire and affect change in the hearts and minds of our audiences.
It’s not a one-size-fits-all world; to successfully engage disparate audiences requires a unique blend of science, empathy, business and creativity. We distill core ideas into compelling narratives, graphics, videos and animations and then deliver these messages in the most effective medium.
We are not wedded to one particular technique or communications channel, realizing that audiences have specific preferences that must be addressed for maximum effectiveness.
We make smart, purposeful, creative decisions, not only by understanding the latest customer data, research, trends and reports, but through our amassed experience and creative insights into the design process.
We work closely with clients to deliver effective moments of engagement, or touchpoints, between people and brands.
We are adept team players, and closely align our processes to work collaboratively with internal client groups and their other partners including PR, research and business analytics providers. Simultaneously, we retain an independence that delivers a fresh perspective and promotes action, efficiency and results.
We’re also in step with evolving technology and emerging trends. Whenever possible, web builds are responsive and optimized for any device. We let the user experience (UX) drive our design, identifying behavioural patterns and implementing best practices. Coaxing eyes, clicks and scrolls towards a strategic call to action inspires our approach to information architecture. We develop for a wide range of platforms, from Sharepoint to WordPress, and are adept at developing for any deployment need. Engagement and clear, concise messaging are paramount within our ever-evolving, time-starved landscape.
Our sites and PDF files also meet and exceed accessibility requirements for the visually impaired. We were chosen to work in conjunction with the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) and the Ontario government to define accessibility guidelines and promote standards to the design community.
